What you should know about Stax O Wax, Inc.
1). We're full time DJs
We're not part time people who moonlight as DJs. We are a full time DJ company with an office staff that will answer your questions during the daytime when you call. Our office hours are: 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday - Thursday.
2). We've been here for 24 years!
Stax O Wax, Inc. has performed at thousands of events since it was founded in 1984. That's the kind of experience you want, and NEED at your event! Avoid the "Johnny come lately DJs" and go with a proven track record and a solid reputation.
3). We DON'T Sub-contract!
We won't sub-contract your party out to another DJ company either. Some mobile DJ companies purposely over book and then sell bookings to other DJs. That means you don't know WHO you're getting. If you book Stax O Wax, you really GET Stax O Wax. Our DJs work exclusively for us. We train them to do the very best job for you. They use our own company-maintained vehicles to deliver our professional sound and lighting equipment so that you are assured a consistent and reliable performance every time.
4). We're Insured
We carry a 1 million dollar liability insurance policy that covers us at every event we perform for. This is our own individual company policy, not a policy that is "shared" with other DJ companies that are part of an association. We will even provide you with a certificate of insurance upon request, and can add you or your company as an additional insured for a small fee.
5). We're GUARANTEED!
We're dependable because we designed our company to be that way. We start on time every time. We're so confident that we have an "On Time Guarantee". If we're even 15 minutes late from our contracted start time, we're FREE!
6). We LOOK Good!
We're always formally dressed, unless you request casual attire.
7). Don't Feed the DJs!
We don't eat dinner at your party because we're not guests, we're WORKING for you! This alone could save you $30 - $200 over other DJ companies that expect you to feed them.
8). The TIP/Gratuity question...
We do not put out a "tip jar", nor do we solicit tips from your guests. We are well paid for our services, and at the end of the night if you feel we performed in an outstanding way, any gratuity is at your sole discretion.
9). Back-up equipment and DJs
We have back-up equipment, vehicles, and DJs to ensure that we're there for you. Since 1984 we've encountered just about every problem you can imagine. Because we set up early and have emergency back-up equipment, vehicles, and personnel standing by, none of them kept us from performing at our scheduled event. Our back-up plan is so good that you'll never even know there was a problem!
10). We use all professional sound equipment.
No home-made speaker cabinets here... we use all the best name brands in professional DJ equipment. Names like Mackie, Pioneer, Shure, and more. The equipment is well balanced for clean, beautiful sound at all volume levels. We have Compact Discs (CD) and digital laptop computer based sound equipment available, depending on your personal preferences.
11). Lights Too!
We have a wide variety of lighting choices! From our Economy Package, with no lights, to our Ultimate Package, with more lights than most night clubs, you have a full range of choices available. From mild to wild, no lights to BIG light shows, we have exactly what you're looking for.
Our lights are state of the art professional LED fixtures that are DMX computer controlled. Intelligent lights like ours can display many times more effects than old fashioned incandescent "dumb" lights. Our LED lights can also be called "green"! LED lights are so efficient that our whole regular light show uses less electricity than a common 100w light bulb. The Ultimate light show uses less electricity than 3 light bulbs. Cool, efficient, and TRULY DAZZLING!
12). We play a variety of music.
We carry a wide variety of music to entertain everyone from Grandma & Grandpa all the way down to the little grandchildren. A good variety of new and old, fast and slow, and requests, will ensure that everyone has fun at your party! We have what it takes to keep your party moving!
13). We Travel!
We serve the greater Chicago and suburban area with no travel charge, but we will travel anywhere. Even though we are suburban Chicago based, we have performed in a number of midwestern states. Places like Cleveland OH, Madison WI, Green Bay WI, Minneapolis MN, Duluth MN, Indianapolis IN, DesMoines IA, and more. Travel charges apply based on distance and travel time, but you can take our high quality performance anywhere you need it.
14). We're convenient!
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, with NO SURCHARGES. You can check your date, get a quote, and actually book your date ONLINE, right on our web site!
